Well using the above translator I looked up the word "wolf", it gave me "Cu Allaidh". Is this translation correct and how on earth would you pronounce it? lol

It means "wild dog" (cù is dog). It is correct... one of several words for wolf. Allaidh is pronounced (roughly) "allee" but not exactly as English speakers would read that word of course.

Thanks for the response Leaflady. The reason I ask is because I LOVE wolves, they are my totem animal. I was thinking of using it as a magickal/druidic surname, so basicly it would look like "Aengus Cu Allaidh". So for me, being geographicly American and speaking "American English" I would pronounce it, Aengus "coo allee"?

Yes. Pretty much. But the "ll" sound is pronounced a bit farther back in the mouth than in English.

I believe a more common word for wolf is "faol"... which is pronounced more or less like "furl", but LEAVE OUT THE R - pronounce the u exactly the same but leave out the R.

Yes I have a fondness for all the languages in the area (Irish, Welsh, Scottish and so on), always have. Would love to learn the "native tongue" of my ancestors whom are from Ireland and England.
