For the victims of Swine Influenza

Postby Aelfarh » 28 Apr 2009, 09:14

For all the victims of Swine Influenza, and sadly have to say, the ones that will come in this pandemic disease. And let's hope and ask that the outbreak don't cause too many more victims.

I'll agree we should pray for them, however I live in Texas and have barely seen an outcry here. seems to me that it is more of a sensationalist claim than anything. yes, i understand people have died and are sick, i will be praying for them and keeping them in my thoughts, but the word pandemic/outbreak is causing more hype than needed, and in turn causing hysteria that is not needed in this region as is. (we have enough trouble with the governmental system in place)

And lets not forget the 13,000 or so people who have died from regular, old fashioned flu, just in the USA so far this year.

Sorry but 2500 cases and 159 deaths in less than a week in Mexico city alone sounds like an outbreak to me and that are the official numbers, that are not consistent with the reports my friends (specially the friends of mine who are doctors and work in hospitals) have reported to me, they say its worst than that.
