RSS Feeds

This is slightly technical, and I don't know if it can be enabled with this board software or not, but if it can I would suggest enabling RSS feeds for fora and individual threads.

That way one could keep track of when new stuff has been added, either new threads or new posts to a thread, without having to visit the board to see.

Sometimes I'm happy to log in and browse around and see what's happening on the board, sometimes I am just checking on particular things. For example the first thing I usually do is check "view new posts" - if there's nothing there I'm interested in I might just go away, particularly if pressed for time. If I could have an RSS feed of that, I would be notified via my RSS feed reader of any and all changes to that page.

As I say, don't know if this can be turned on for this board or not, but just thought I would ask.

I'm sorry you have been waiting so long for a reply. It could be a possibility that the Admins are trying to work this out to see what can be done, however, let me check and we'll see if we can get you an answer of sorts.

RSS is not built into the board software, but there are several mods that can add it if enough people would find it useful. One looks good, though I have not gone through all the posts on the phpBB forum:

Two are released and validated, but some users say it shows topics in hidden forums which would be a problem. There is also a mod in beta which is still too buggy to use in a live board.

I guess the question is if there are enough interest in RSS syndication to make it worthwhile to install and test the mod(s)
