Hey AJ!

Today seeds have been sown and beds dug. Sweet corn and Dwarf Peas went in, and tomorrow im hoping to go down and get some more seeds in.

We have been planning the renovation of the current greenhouse into a COB shack. We will remove the plastic to reveal the wood structure and use it as the framework to hold the cob. There is going to be a mini conservatory on the side for things that need a home in winter, and for warming up the inside of the hut. Ill also rig up a chimney inside the shack so we can enjoy more time at the grove in winter. Around it will be a low wall made of COB and some decking from the pallets we have been collecting.

For a new greenhouse we are going to use the large polytunnel, but imbedded in a brick base. This will provide more room than what the original greenhouse.

Below are some quick sketches of the Shack that show the deck, wall and side conservatory. I have also put a few pics on from today.

I'm building a potting shed very much like yours in the first photo,
and like you have been putting in beans and seeds into trays, cabbage, parsnips,tomatoes, early brocc,
and cucumber etc..

Roll on the summer!
Sometimes in the summer we get up Newcastle way, hubby's family are from chester-le-street and consett.
so will pop in and see you and Hazel Grove!!!

and here is some more..... today I took photos of some things that are in bloom. The new hazel leafs are breaking out too! Managed to get some potatoes in, and repot the beans. The sweetcorn as you will see is really going for it. Im so excited about snapping off a cob.

Hi folks!
Its been a while since I posted and today I thought Id make the effort! Thanks for your kind words Keesh and a big thanks to Mika for the info and links, they were most helpful.

Life has been busy on and off the Grove. We have moved house (again!) and I also landed a new job. I still work at the school but in a different department! I have been getting over to the grove some lunchtimes to escape the influences of work/purgatory. Nobody can get you there….unless you’re a cantankerous old man in the next plot, who demands everyone on site must plant and keep their borders in straight lines!

Its very difficult making time, to get what I want done at the grove. The corporate machine holds most of us tight, snarling if we seek our freedom and smearing the third eye in things we don’t need. But come the summer hols ill get two months to play and release the inner child.

So below are some observations and things we have been getting up to.
