Do you live near a university? If yes, check their library and the possibilities of interlending.
For me, a lot of it is "free" (as in paid by taxes and tuition fee) even if I can't afford the books.

There are companies who sell cheap facsimiles in paperback of these texts and other rare texts. You can find them on Amazon. I recently ordered 'Lebor Gabala Érenn' and it cost 20 euro for one Volume as opposed to 70 euro.
