Hi I live in Leyland, Lancashire and have been feeling drawn towards Druidism for some time now. I'm 30 years old and have had a lot of different spiritual experiences throughout this life. I'm interested to know what the Druid belief is regarding what happens when and after we die. I was a Buddhist nun for several years but didn't feel quite fulfilled.
When I was quite young my mum introduced me to the Tarot and developing psychic abilities. Whenever I can I will go out to anywhere green and emerse myself in the elements. There is so much power out there for us all to tap into. I'm looking forward to receiving the intro to Druidism which I ordered yesterday and getting the full course and membership when my finances improve.

Hello. ^_^ I just turned 17 about a week ago, and and I live near Atlanta, GA. I'm not confident in calling myself a Druid, but I find great comfort in the philosophy, and I've been lurking around this board for a little while, reading what I could, as well as the rest of the site. I was raised as a Christian, and I've been going to a fundamental Baptist church my whole life, but I've been taking issues with certain church doctrine since I've gotten older.

So, I'm basically joining because I really want to learn more about Druidism, and you seem like a friendly lot.

Hello, I'm Stela, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 47.I'm still in the beginning of my bard journey. A few days ago I got a letter about this forum and decided to try to participate. I'm designer and photographer, interested in British History and King Arthur. In 2005 I travelled to the UK for the Summer Solstice in Stonehenge, after that I went to Glastonbury, Tintagel, London, some places in Scotland, but then I didn't know about the existence of Obod.
I'm glad to have found you and look forward next travel.
I always read Touchstone, and ask if it will continue or if the forum replaces it.

Welcome to the message board, Stela! Pull up a log and make yourself comfortable!

Touchstone and the message board are entirely separate entities. Touchstone is for members of OBOD and you'll receive it as long as you're getting monthly packets of gwersi, regardless of which grade you are in. Once you've received all of the lessons for the grade, you'll have the option of continuing to get Touchstone by subscription. (This is all explained in later mailings, so don't worry about remembering to ask!)

The message board is just here, free for everyone to read and use; OBOD membership is not required. However, there are a few perks for OBOD members, such as forums for each grade and other members-only areas, so be sure and get yourself added to the Bards forum so you can take part in those, too. I chose to join OBOD because I've long had an interest in many areas of study that OBOD's training appears to cover - and while I've been obsessively gathering up my own knowledge over the years, it's wonderful to join a community where others are learning the same things I'm so passionate about. My name is kalartaliesin. Kalar for short. I have been a pagan for many years and have researched it's many forms. For the past five or six years when someone has asked me what religion or philosophy I follow I say "Druid." I know much but have much to learn. This is why, after being a solitary for years, I decided to join with my brothers and sisters in OBOD. I have gone through the first four gwersi several times and guess it's about time to make contact.
My given name is John Winslow. I am 67 years old. I am a licensed clinical psychologists in California. I live in the far northern part in a place called Lake County. We are surround by mountains and trees (Oak and Pine) and have the cleanest air in California. My personal psychology is archtypal. I work with children who have severe behavior problems, teaching the parent(s) to use positive reinforcement.
I am a life member of Clan MacPherson, a Highlands clan, and I attend Scottish games in the Bay Area of San Francisco, and go to Scotland frequently. I am also English, Irish and Norwegian by my four grandparents. I like riding my Harley Davidson motorcycles, sailing and flying. I also like getting away to go scuba diving when I can.
I have a circular grove of Oak trees on a hill about a half mile up from my house where I stand quietly every morning on my marning walk.

My own quote: "If you live your life always afraid of dieinng you're not really living you're life."
