Jane Dagger-Gubb

Postby Celtic Knight » 16 Sep 2009, 18:53

The great folk magician, Celtic shaman and ritual tool maker, Jane Dagger aka Jane Gubb, set off on her journey to the Summerlands yesterday after a short but painful illness, aged only 49.

She was truly someone who made a huge impact on all those who were fortunate enough to have met her, whether they were family, friends, students or clients. She was a remarkable woman: vibrant, uncompromising and generous.

My best memories of her were the times spent sitting around a fire sharing jokes, songs and stories, all coloured by her wicked sense of humour.

Her love of the land, its plants and all its creatures, whether seen or unseen, was inspirational. Her integrity was beyond compromise: she said exactly what she thought and made no effort to be liked but, with her, this only made her all the more likable. She would give her all to those she met, principally her deep knowledge, insights and, above all, love. She was a talented artist and made many beautiful tools and paintings. In her healing work, she was the bravest of the brave, dealing with clients and situations that others feared to work with.

She enriched so many people's lives. Those who met her will never forget her. The world is a much emptier place without her.

Journey well, my friend. May love and peace be your faithful companions.
