The open road has been the only home I have known in my life. I drive 500 miles per-day total of 2500 miles per-week. I go where the open road takes me. The BP oil-spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is a devastating reminder of the perils of relying on offshore drilling, and on fossil fuels in general. I am concerned about the incalculable environmental damage that has been caused that threatens the well being of hundreds of species of fish and wildlife and millions of acres of critical wetlands. This oil-spill has been estimated will destroy up to 25% of all the wetlands in the USA. While official estimates are that 5,000 barrels of oil per day are continuously leaking into the Gulf of Mexico. What that means is that this oil-spill disaster could eclipse in weeks the largest oil spill in the world’s history. This tragedy must teach us an important lesson. Whether it is offshore oil drilling or nuclear power, it is not good enough to be just safe only. Just one event can have calamitous and irreversible impact on the world’s environment. No more new offshore drilling and no more fossil fuels. Not now! Not ever!
Why Hemp biodiesel Fuel? Quoting from the article:
The Congressional Budget Office, Department of Defense, US Department of Agriculture, and others have determined that biodiesel is the low cost alternative fuel option for fleets to meet requirements of the Energy Policy Act. Why not Hemp biodiesel Fuel? Hemp biodiesel is the only alternative fuel that runs in any conventional, unmodified diesel engine. It can be stored anywhere that petroleum diesel fuel is stored. Hemp biodiesel is safe to handle and transport because it is as biodegradable as sugar, 10 times less toxic than table salt, and has a high flashpoint of about 300 F compared to petroleum diesel fuel, which has a flash point of 125 F. When burned in a diesel engine, Hemp biodiesel replaces the exhaust odor of petroleum diesel with the pleasant smell of hemp. Hemp biodiesel is the only alternative fuel in the US to complete EPA Tier I Health Effects Testing under section 211(b) of the Clean Air Act, which provide the most thorough inventory of environmental and human health effects attributes that current technology will allow. Hemp biodiesel is 11% oxygen by weight and contains no sulfur. The use of Hemp biodiesel can extend the life of diesel engines because it is more lubricating than petroleum diesel fuel, while fuel consumption, auto ignition, power output, and engine torque are relatively unaffected by Hemp biodiesel.
