I'd decided that for this latest one, I would use the Ba Gua "Later Heaven". The image that I found on the web had the yin/yang "horizontal" rather than vertical, so I decided to edit it before taking it into the shop (note: tattoo artists tend to suck their teeth quite hard when you offer something that is simply circles and straight lines
As I reorientated the central symbol it seemed more "right" to put the light and shade in the way reflected in your link - without noting further about the North/South winter solstice/summer solstice orientation... until last week.
I guess the Tao (and my spirits) guided me!
