Tones of Earth

Postby Fox of the Oaks » 29 Jun 2010, 02:29

Shifting tones of warmth and cold,
Wet and dry and young and old.
Such seasonal swings they have their ring,
And so do tones that heavens bring.
Far above our Earth, She's quite;
Over starry spans,
Beyond day and night,
Silent is her outer light.

Yet hidden within Her - Wondrous sight!
Her energies connected far,
Deep and wide; on every side.
To something larger than we know,
To beauty that is far too true.
Yet so simple, we share the show;
She shares her gifts with me and you.

She is a sparkle jewel drop heart,
In cosmic ocean ever vast.
Such feelings over time we meet,
In nature's realm if we shift our feet,
And journey to those hidden places,
Where she keeps her silent faces.

What a great piece of work, was this written all at once or over a period of time? If I get lines in my head they seem to arrive faster than I can write them. I loved the atmosphere you created for me. Thanks for sharing it on here. I particularly like the the final verse.
May the Awen continue to shine on you... :)

Blessings

ps my grandaughter Lily (6yrs old0 loves your picture and asked to express that with this; :yay:

Hi White Star,

Thanks for the comments.
It was written all at once. My usual approach is to just let the lines flow out, and then go back over them and modify them a bit here and there.
Best wishes to you and Lily. :hiya:

it's beautiful. :applause: i love the soft tones and the soft livingness you invoke. you must have been touched by the mind of the earth. how do you meditate to get this inspiration?

I have previously spent some time meditating in the ways common to the Yoga tradition, and other eastern ways. Since joining OBOD, I have been working with the Bardic teachings. One main approach I favour is the entering into the silence as a meditation. I belief inner space is essential to allow fresh inspiration and creativity. Emptying ourselves first, then exposing ourselves to nature and enlightened creative works of others, I find, are ways to spark inspiration, and when one is empty within, it is like throwing a match on dry grass... This fire then must be cultivated, which is a challenge in today's world.

Peace.
