I graduated music academy with recorder as prime instrument and piano as second.
In the '80s I played bariton (tuba) in a brass band.We mostly played at military tattoos.
I worked for over 10 years as a professional musician playing guitar,charrango, ronroco, zampoña and percussion with my band 'Los Chasquis' and as guest musician with Awatiñas, Runa Kuna, Kollasuyu ñan etc. But I started to play Andean music with Bolivia Canta in Holland.

I have played the piano for more years than I care to admit My current instrument is a Yamaha CP300 stage piano, which I like because it has the same keyboard used on the Yamaha acoustic instruments yet is fully digital, with a built in 16 track recorder and full MIDI capabilities. It is also portable! I work with all styles and genres with this instrument.

Am also a classically trained vocalist who works mostly in small and large choral ensembles. Pretty passionate about early music and have done a lot of it. Also into folk music--have studied music of Balkans, South Africa, Appalachians, shape note singing and waulking songs.

Percussion is pretty fun when there are good people to play with. I have worked with folk, West African, Middle Eastern and gamelan, and am a true beginner in bodhran.

I had to learn recorders for my teaching job. I work with early music and folk music on soprano and tenor recorder and whistles. Most recently picked up a Ukrainian double whistle in C on a trip to Kiev.

Guitar was a challenge for me in music therapy training. I know about three chords but still own my own acoustic guitar.

I just set up a nice recording studio, but I think equipment and recording software brand discussions fall outside the scope of this page :P

So would I! But for me they're a little costly, so they're on the cards for the 'one day' option!

I play piano mostly, though this uni break I've taken up the ocarina, which is proving quite a lot of fun.

I play accoustic guitar, 6 and 12 string, although I have to borrow the 12 from a workmate! I'm partial to a bit of bodrahn and I think blessedly, I'm starting to get the hang of it! I dabble with the piano when I have access to one and I'm also trying to learn to play the mandolin and djembe.

i'm learning the banjo, to add to my guitar and recorders. i'm self taught, folk style - a bit of a brumby i've been given a harmonica as well. looking for bongos and a tambourine.

I am new to OBOD and the forum. I play a sounding bowl made by Tobias Kaye, they are beautiful handmade bowls with a variety of options regarding the wood used, shape,number of strings and stringing pattern. They are often used in sound therapy and they are truly beautiful, both in tone and feel.

Hello all!

I play drums and various percussion...djembe, bongos, conga, and can make noise that "sounds" like music on cajon. I am a bit rusty on the drums. I haven't played regularly for about 8 years. I used to be in a few bands playing anything from gospel / blues and rock to Latin rock.

I am currently learning mandolin. I don't have as much time to practice like I want to, though. I am looking forward to being able to express myself with the mando like I can with percussion. It is always good to learn something new...

Guitar (PRS Electric and Fender Acoustic), Flute (Concert and currently learning Chinese Dizi & Bahu), Tin Whistle and a bit of Keyboard and Harmonica...

I love music both playing and listening, it's amazing how musical instruments can distort my perception of time, 1min = 1hr later Doh!

To add to my previous post I now have a wire harp I'm learning to play. And I've just begun teaching gut to beginners, which I love!!! Hoping to get a bray harp too at some point, need to save up for it though!!

I play the bass guitar (ESP, Fender Jazz, and Fender Precision) through an Ashdown 410 cab with Ashdown head and a sonic maximizer. Ashdown is an England based company that apparently has an affinity for making heavy things. My cab is a beast and no casters (don't know why). I got into Ashdown because Adam Clayton (U2) has played through one and I like his bass tone. For rock they are great, however, for my metal band it does fall short.

Since I heard the recorder played professionally I've been concentrating on that, but I also play (very amateurishly) piano,tin whistle and bodhran. I've also booked myself into a "play the ukelele in a day" workshop next February. That remains to be seen!
