Sunflower Fields - I'm lucky

Postby celticmodes » 11 Aug 2010, 13:35

I work at Ford headquarters in North America. There is a lot of land surrounding the buildings and I think to reduce the tax burden of having it all zoned commercial, we plant wildflowers and sunflower fields. We also have a lot of trees with placards describing the species and some double rows of trees to separate sections.

I feel exceedingly lucky that I can walk away from my computer several times a day to visit the sunflowers and watch them grow and even lose myself in the mini forest not a few hundred feet from the door. When the wildflowers bloom, the activity of birds and insects and the smells on the breeze is overwhelming.

I just had to post this because I'm in such a good mood and can't share it with anyone at work. They'd look at me like I was nutty crunchy, which I am :-)

what a lovely bright post like the sunflower fields. It sounds beautiful I am sure there are other secret nutty crunchers if you look carefully enough at your work mates.

Even in an urban landscape nature will creep in and into our hearts.

With blessings
