Thanksgvng & asking for help

Postby Susanne » 25 Nov 2010, 14:34

Greetings to all
Today is Thanksgiving day in the US & I am doing just that...giving thanks for my family, friends (you all included!) & all that I have in my life.
The ask for help is for my daughter, Bronwyn. She is 19 years old & on Tuesday was diagnosed with ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura). This is where a persons platelets are so low that they bleed & bruise & have a rash of small dark purple spots. She has had all three for a few days now. She's been for several blood draws already, has to go back tomorrow for more & is on high dose steroids to start out treatment.
As a nurse the rational part of my brain says it will be OK, as a mom I'm petrified & so sad for her. She goes from quiet to crying to OK several times in the course of a day.
Any & all prayers or energy sent her way would be much appreciated. Also, any suggestions from anyone who does herbal or energy work would be great too.
Thanks so much!
Blessings

Susanne my heart goes out to you and your daughter. If you could ignore my chosen board identity, I regret the day I started using it. I will create another genuine one when I have more time.
I am in fact a 46 year old mother of four daughters and my second eldest dauhghter, who was 19 at the time came down with this condition two years ago. Prior to that she had had a glandular virus which cleared up and then two weeks later the red/purple spots appeared and bruising beneath the skin, on her Arms, legs and torso. The first doctor she consulted said it was a washing powder allergy, I knew it was more serious and insisted on a second opinion the next day. That Doctor sent us straight to casualty with a letter and she had numerous blood tests, while they tried to find out what was wrong. They then told us that her platelet count had dropped very low and if it showed no signs of going up they would have to do a blood transfusion. However they decided to wait overnight and do another test in the morning. So I prayed and did hands on healing for my daughter and the next day her platelet count had gone right up. Now it either rectified itself naturally or something happened. We were told by the Doctors that they did not understand what caused the condition, or why the platelets had suddenly gone back up,the spots and bruises disappeared over a few days. She was discharged and has never had any problems since. As a mother I can understand the anxiety that you are suffering. I will send healing and prayers for you this evening.

Thinking of you and your daughter and praying for a quick recovery.

My youngest sister was diagnosed with this when she was 7, I was a teenager at the time and was really scared, mainly because she was rushed into hospital only a few hours after seeing the GP. I recall the doctors saying they did not know why it happened and expected she should recover quickly, which she did after a course of steroids and a 2 week stay in hospital. She recovered fully within less than 2 months and has had no return of the condition. This was over 30 years ago.

blessings to you and yours

Thank you so very much to all for your good wishes.
We went back for lab tests yesterday & unfortunately her count was a bit lower. The doctor wasn't too concerned yet since it's still early in the treatment but my daughter was so upset. Each & every new bruise or spot in her mouth makes her so nervous. She goes back for another lab draw on Tuesday & hopefully there will be some improvement.
We've started to decorate the house for Christmas (which always makes her happy!) and it's gently snowing right now so it ought to be a great day.
I wish for a great day for you all as well!
Blessings
