I love taking my tin whistle out to play for the trees and birds. I guess our local fairies have been getting an earful too. The atmosphere always does get really strange and yet peaceful when I play outdoors, especially if I am sitting cross legged beneath some of our big old jarrah trees. It is good to connect myself more to the earth by plonking right down on it. Earth told me so. :) Not so good today though, was burning my tootsies when I went out barefoot to give my horse her lunch.

I am not too twee to do the tiny sandwiches etc. It strikes me that it would be the perfect way to celebrate Alban Hefin while involving my little nieces, five and seven.

I'm getting some great ideas here. Any more planned celebrations, rituals etc?

Hugs,

How lovely it was to finally meet some Aussie OBODies! :cloud9:
I'm really glad I was able to make the journey to Cronulla despite the drama of the overflowing swimming pool. It's good to put some faces to names, though I have little hope of remembering everyone after just one meeting like that, and there is the additional complication of matching faces to some familiar forum names but then learning the alternate names too!
For those who use Facebook, if you enter Dragonwyst in the search option I come up at top of the list with my conventional? name (Alice Suttie), and now that you've seen me you'll recognise the pic.
Thank you, LadyA for the organising and hosting :applause:
Here's to more of this sort of thing... :gulp:

No problem at all Dragonwyst. I really really enjoyed it also. It was my pleasure.

If any other Sydney OBOD'ers would like to join us next time we meet, please PM me.

Even if you are a solitary practioner (which I am more or less) I still encourage you to try to meet some people face to face even if its for a Coffee/Chai or something. Doesn't need to involve ritual, but the human contact definately helps!. :yay: :warm:

Hello everyone! :yay:

I've only recently become a member of the OBOD, I wasn't sure what the presence would be like for Druidry in Australia before I joined but my first impression is that it's all happening!

I think at the moment I'm more like an over-excited 5 year old when going through my gwersi than my supposed tag of 'adult' - I recieve the package - open it - get unsure where to start - read everything but get too enthusiastic about the experience of it all - consequently read everything again later. I'm really ejoying the journey so far though, even though I'm only at the very beginning.

Anyway though I live in Adelaide and travelling interstate may be an issue for me currently, should I ever get the opportunity to meet any of you (and I hope I do) I should be very glad to do so indeed! :D :shake:

w00t! Congratulations Dragonwyst :applause: and Hi there eeepapillon, nice to meet you :shake: :hiya: I'm in Western Australia doing the Bardic Grade and enjoying it, tho events in my life the last couple months have slowed things down somewhat I'm still enthusiastic :)

Bronzie- sounds lovely! I've recently discovered an Old Giant Oak in our local park. It was a rather hidden from the road by another tree which unfortunately was knocked over and uprooted during a storm.
I've visited with Grandmother Oak a couple times (I got the distinct impression of being corrected firmly yet kindly "Grandmother" after I addressed her as "Grandfather Oak" ) She has baby acorns growing so when they're big enough I am going to ask her permission to collect one to plant here at home :)

 and Blessings,
Ra3vyn :)

Druidic Dawn has recently produced a short video relating to Druidry in Australia during the 2010 Summer Solstice. The video embraces the landscape with various commentaries by Australian Druids'. It too, is very grateful to the Melbourne Grove for there participation. :shake:

It can be viewed at http://www.druidicdawn.org/node/2270 or

Howdy all,

It seems it's taken me quite
sometime to find this thread I am
Sorry to have left it so long to meet every-one.

My name is Rowan Ravenseed I've been with Obod for
around 5 years now in saying that I am still making
My way through the bardic gwersi I guess it's fair to say
I tend to take my time. I hope one day soon
I will get the opportunity to meet some of my fellow obodies
At a gathering sometime.

Bright blessings

Hi Rowan and welcome! :hiya:

if I had my way I'd get this thread pinned. However, the threat of having it pruned if not viewed for 60 days is a good way to keep us posting! if ever you head down towards Sydney, give a yell. There's a few of us spread out and about. And then there's the assembly later this year. Follow the links higher up the thread to Serpentstar for details regarding that.
