That is a symbol that another Druid order has taken as their own. It is from the Reformed Druids of Gaia http://www.reformed-druids.org/ and The Order of the Mithril Star http://www.mithrilstar.org/.

Also, here is a link about the symbol http://www.mithrilstar.org/7pointedstar.htm

Hope this helps

Cheers!

That's a discordian joke, isn't it? Dr. Ebrill Ynfytyn is said to have found a plate in Brittany, river Ars (not a curse, in here; but the two Arses I could find are in southern France, not in Brittany), with a Welsh ogham inscription? The link from Ynfytyn leads to the faq-page under "eris" (= discordia).
That page is a joke, isn't it?

I have seen something on the Seven Pointed Star referring to the Faerie Tradition (Feri Trad to some).... although I do not agree with its use nor would I wear it personally... I do not begrudge others wearing it if they feel a "connection" to it.
.
The Druids wrote nothing down, and memorized everything...

AFAIK the Druid Star would be the Pentagram or 5 pointed star.

The Heptagram, or 7 pointed star, seem more related to the Fairy faith. A thought did strike me that it could be due to the relation of the Pleiades, the Greek seven sisters and Norse Hens of Freyja, to the festival of Samhuin. Samhuin is a time when the fae folk ride out - as mentioned in the Ballad Tam Lin.
Most dear is fire to the sons of men,
most sweet the sight of the sun;
good is health if one can but keep it,
and to live a life without shame. (Havamal 68)

I'd go for the joke since there is no river Ars in Brittany and the name, Dr. Ebrill Ynfytyn, translates to "Doctor April Fool." Methinks the whole thing is an elaborate hoax which some folks will swallow hook, line and sinker.

that page might be a joke but the heptagram isnt the number 7 is a magikal number and is in alot of stuff the original number of planets was 7 and theres a few egyptian rituals that use the heptagram http://www.sacred-texts.com/cat/tk_h.htm

i found this site on creating a perfect heptagram which mentions the great pyramids i thought it was interesting seeing its done in a simular way as the triquetra except with more circles
http://home.hiwaay.net/~jalison/hepta.html

ive found lots of metions of the fae tradition which may be why it called to me not sure still researching it its very intrguing

I found out that the seven points are for all the known planets (pre-Uranus-Pluto). And for the seven days of creation.
So, nobody found anything about the Star of the Druids, then?

Hi Dendrias, I feel it was only adopted by one order and not a generic druidic star. Just my thoughts

This star has it's origins in Kabbalah, and most magical stars have their roots in the Abrahamic religions. Christianity used it as the symbol of God, or perfection. There is no evidence what so ever that this star was used by the druids. It has been adopted by some pagan paths like wicca and the faerie tradition, but this isn't because it was used by the druids. It's because it has had associations with the magical symbols from Judaism, Christianity and even Islam.

It is NOT hidden by druids in knotwork as one website states. Knotwork originated in Scandanavia, for a start. It came over with the Vikings.

It being a picbadge does not mean it is true!
