reading is seeing
writing is trusting
that thoughts can be tracked until
ideas give way to a warm-blooded animal
whose behaviour in the wild
scholars cannot dictate
let words be true
let consciousness expand
let words be magic
let words be spells
this is sacred time
this is sacred work
may it honour those
who inspire me
may it please the small gods
who guide me
may I yield to effort
and know when to let things be
