Where do you live? It looks like somewhere in the Eastern US. I live in Asheville NC in the Western North Carolina Mountains.

A friend of ours stopped by with a gift for Ben,,It was a huge rose quarts crystal as long and big as a loaf of bread,,We placed it standing on Ben's grave and braced it with heavy stones,,With the pines gone now it really gathers the sunlight and Sam will sometimes look at it or maybe remember that's where we put his buddy,,Than he will hear a chipmunk squeak and he will be gone and I think he still misses Ben because he looks back like he wants Ben to be there and chase the munk like before,,I made a sad trip to Delaware to see some friends graves,,I took some dirt and ash from my pit and the hill where Ben is buried and placed it on their graves and brought back some of theirs for my hill and the Grove,,I hope Ben finds them in his travels they all loved dogs and some knew Ben,,I brought back several sassafrass trees about 6" tall and got them planted so I hope they all live,,Its good to be back in my woods

This winter so far is very mild and I can get back to the grove anytime ,,she is awake and calm and I have been collecting many of the dead branches scattered around her and have quite a pile from pencil size up to 2" and several feet long ,,I might try a small fire but I'm wondering what I could use to burn in that wont look tacky,,I don't want to uproot any of her rocks or burn on the ground ,,What do you all think of a small hibachi grill

A natural fire would be fine. An hibachi grill may work too, plus you could cook on it!

It is pretty cold here in the North Carolina Mountains today and we have 4 inches of snow on the ground.

Almost all the steps are covered in inches thick mosses,,I think a raised container would be best and most of the food I take in is wild berries ,,My offerings are small honeys berries and a splash of dark tea on one small rock knob

The grove has been very active all winter,,The snow is only inches deep and the cold hasn't shown up yet,,I almost wish she would sleep so I could get some too

Well I got my wish for the Grove to sleep,,We have over 2' of snow out back and the Grove sleeps,,I wish I could have gone out and sit in the Grove to gather strength to help my wife,,For 8 years now she was treated for asthma and now none of her pills or breathing treatments work and her rescue inhaler has no affect and she is so scared,,We have been to the ER 5x and after 6-8-and 12 hours they have gotten her oxygen levels to normalise,,The last trip in the ER doc said she needs a room in the hospital so we can work on her round the clock,,So in she went and after several cat scans Xrays MRIs and having a scope down into her lungs and stomach all the sampling and lab work,,She does not have asthma but acid reflux draining sinuses and a lung infection,,8 years of attacks and its heart burn and a drippy nose,,after 6 days she is so tired of all the tests and being woken up every 4 hrs for more breathing treatments and no antibiotics untill she was released sat,,she slept for over 12 hrs and we got her meds and started her walking ,,I could use the grove now ,,so ,,next project is snowshoes,,

Thank You for your thoughts,,not being able to breathe is scary enough but when the meds you have relied on for 8 years to save you no longer work had to be frightening,,She is home and walking and the lungs are getting better,,She is a very strong person and I don't feel she is ready to leave me yet

Sorry to intrude chaps but have read the recent posts and am sorry to hear about your wife Deepwater. I don't know how you feel about natural supplements and so on and don't want to force anything onto anybody but bee propalis may help. My sister suffers from Barratts Sydrome which is a precancerous condition of the esophagus and also a stomach ulcer. She had suffered from acid reflux and heartburn for years so much so that she was limited in what she could eat and had to sleep sitting up. Anyway she came across propalis being used by dentists in a trial run to treat gum disease and mouth ulcers, so decided to give it a go. After two months of taking the supplement she had come of all of the prescribed medicines she had been on for years and gets no acid reflux and no pain. Propalis is also thought to have natural antibiotic properties as well.

Thank You very much,,Ill ask my friend that's bringing 2 bee hives to my home this spring,,He said he will not move them once in place so the hives will be here for a long time,,I am trying to get the wife to also drink some Chaga tea but she is stubborn about natural healing,,Raw honey in her tea is as far as it goes just yet

This thing in Japan disturbs me,,I saw the dark waters and faces and the grove is awake and is looking to the east,,I hope she just wants to see the sunrise and her churing pop is of pleasure and not deed

The 2 bee hives have arrived and were placed on their gravel bases,,The ground is still frozen hard but we put enough sand down to get them level tilted and facing the sun,,Next week the bees arrive and I will have 2 bee hives working their wings to tatters for my berrie bushes when the blossoms start,,Im thinking maybe some wild berrie wine

The grove does not sleep,,There is some logging near her and she is not happy and hasn't made a sound for weeks,,I haven't talked to the logger yet to see how close he will get to the Grove but hope to see him in a week or 2,,,The last 10 months were all about my wife,,why was she getting sicker and why did her asthma meds stop working and why cant she breath and why does cough sooo hard she ends up on the floor out of air,,,many doctors many trips to the ER 3 stays in the hospital a total of 37 days and one major surgery lasting 7 hrs and she is home and getting better one day at a time,,For all but the last few weeks the Grove has been in my mind showing me things of spring and me walking the path with my wife and Sam,,Now my wife is better and my Grove is silent,,,,Bartholomew,,Thanks for the info about the bee pollen,,In 10 mos my wife had gone so far past standard treatment they had to rebuild the lower part of her esophagus and wrap her upper stomach around it to make a stronger valve to stop the acid,,her lungs are scared from so much acid ingested she will have trouble breathing for life,,But the Grove shows us walking in the forest and that is what will happen,, The bees are wicked busy and we have a wild turkey nesting about 20' off to the side of the bee hives,,to all in here that I share emails with thanks for the support and my fire is there to all that needs it

I am glad to hear the positive news concerning your wife. I think the forest's gift of " forest bathing " will help your wife. I send my prayers and well wishes to You, her and your family.
