Hope someone can help

Postby Aethelwulf » 24 Feb 2011, 19:48

Mark and I are both really ill today.
I feel that the house is not letting us heal, this is probably because we don't look after it properly. I believe that a 'cleansing' is in order but I wouldn't know where to start or even if I have the power to do it. Can anyone help at all?

A little background, I have been really ill since July last year, they have since found that I have benign tumours in my liver but I have severe pain on my left side which no one can explain, I have bouts of 'sicky' feelings and extreme fatigue. I am also a sufferer of Bi-Polar, which has in the last two years been diagnosed, but for the last 20 years I have been misdiagnosed as depression.

Mark had a spinal fusion in 2009 and in four vertebrae and there has been no bone growth at all since the op so he cannot 'do' anything which could put pressure on his back.

Lately though both of us are really really ill, I feel we can't go on as we are.

We also have 2 children and 2 dogs to look after.

Any kind of help would be beneficial. I am not sure this is even the right place to be talking about this.

Hi Tiigaan,

I do not know that I can help but a friendly hi might help.

Are you taking the bard course because there is a house blessing in one of the early gwersi.

One of the things I do is smudge my house - using dried white sage. You can buy smudge sticks but I like loose sage leaves. I have a special china mug I use - it is much safer than using a stick or the shells you can buy. I put a few leaves in the mug then light the leaves and smudge each room starting in the eastern corner, then west, south finishing with the north. I draw reiki symbols with the smudge in each corner, you could use Awen, or a symbol of your choosing. Before I bless each corner I clap to hear the energy - sometimes you can hear it is really flat, if it is I smudge the area and clap again and then repeat the smudging if necessary until the sound is sharp. It is a very healing and peaceful thing to do and using the mug the children can help. You can even smudge each other front back sides, head, arms feet, bottom of the foot.... can make people laugh as they try to balance with one foot in the air.

The other thing I could offer, if it is OK with you, is to send distant Reiki Healing, to you all.

With blessings
Merryb

 and healing thoughts to you both.

I smudge my spaces too I also like to go through the house and ring a bell or bells on a stick as this helps break up energy and i like the sound too which helps me fill my space with more positive energy.

This section of the board can be one source of information.

Have you thought of giving the house just a simple good cleaning (?) Maybe use lavender or citrus (juice, peel, leaves or essential oil) as you clean? Scatter salt around the perimeter and/or carry a candle (?) symbolic of what the ancient Celts did?

As far as your own health and well being...may I ask, do you meditate? Exercise? Hug a tree?

Just some thoughts.

Blessings and good energy,
Aigeann

Hi Aethelwulf. I would forget about the house, if I were you, and start working on yourself. Looking into my own thoughts, feelings, desires & needs is what has always worked for me when I have been ill. We do not get 'attacked' by ill health, we invite it in!

The liver is the holding house for all sorts of anger; can you face up to what you are angry about, and work it out?

Also have you ever had your thyroid function checked out? Imbalance here can mimic the symptoms of bi-polar.
Hyperthyroidism (increase in thyroid activity causing weight loss, irritability, nervousness, perspiration & weakness): fear of responsibility, expressing something you wish you hadn't, talking too much, gossiping, rage of being left out.
Hypothyroidism (the slowing down of thyroid activity resulting in depression, tiredness, weight increase, low body temperature): losing the will to live, feeling hopelessly stifled, not expressing something & wishing you could, unfulfilled expectation of partner, insecurity.

You could also try the Bach remedies to help you work through it all. Sweet Chestnut may be one that could be worth a try, but research them yourself to see if this is right for you.
I feel you may have quite a few deep seated emotional problems that you need to get to the bottom of. And you may have to include your partner in this.

I hope this helps a little & that you can pull your health together soon.

Seconding the liver holding onto anger. An herb that is great for clearing it is Bupluerum. You can take it alone, or in a Chinese Patent formula called Free and Easy Wanderer. The dosage for the patent remedy is 8 teapills, three times per day. Plum flower is a good, reliable brand, and googling for it will show several online sources.

I would also suggest Milk Thistle for your liver. It is an incredibly effective herb for both cleansing and repairing the liver, which is a highly regenerative organ.

Herbs that can help your husband by encouraging bone growth include horsetail and garlic. They both contain compounds that encourage bone growth, silica and sulfur, respectively. Calcium and magenesium are also essential for bone growth. You both might want to consider adding anti-inflammatory foods and supplements into your diet, such as fish oil or a supplement like Wobenzyme.

When I've been sick, I like to smudge my house with cedar, which is specific for clearing illness.

As someone living with chronic pain, my heart goes out to you. There are good days and bad days, and sometimes, the bad days are really, truly awful. *big hugs*
