When I read this
http://www.independent.ie/lifestyle/st- ... 18905.htmlmy b.s.-ometer goes off into maximum readings.
Is any of this supported by evidence?
A gold-covered statue to a blood-thirsty deity that demands sacrifice of the first born (what - animal? human??) on Samhain?
bright blessed days, dark sacred nights

Ahh nothing like a bit of blarney and a photo of pretty girl wrapped in a snake to sell newspapers.
Certainly it reads very much like John Milius' "Conan the Barbarian" film, after all Crom is Conan's deity
At least Wikipedia has a more balanced entry...

Most dear is fire to the sons of men,
most sweet the sight of the sun;
good is health if one can but keep it,
and to live a life without shame. (Havamal 68)
