Prior to administering anything, homeopathic or conventional to anyone's diet, pets especially, we feel that personal health history must be considered, and a medical professional should be consulted. There are many instances where even the most "harmless" additive has had contraindications and caused more harm than good. We believe everyone here is responsible and understands that, but it is important to re-state. This is a public forum, viewable by guests as well as members, and is cataloged by most search engines.

I have suffered with depression since a child; it's a family thing. Nothing has to happen to cause me to feel like this. It just happens and I am in the throes of it at the moment. Could someone send me some healing please.

Dear Blyth - First, I do send you my best wishes for all blessings to be yours.
Second, although no one can fully enter into someone else's pain, I do understand both personally and objectively how difficult it is to deal with depression, especially if it is not brought on by circumstances. When you're dealing with clinical depression that has no objective source in what's happening in your life, it's often more difficult for people close to you to understand or relate to. It's also difficult to explain it to them, so communication is very hard and can become painful.
I'm sure no one needs to tell you that this is a problem to be taken seriously; I would recommend that you consult a professional as soon as you can. If, as you describe, your depression is hereditary, it may well have a genetic basis. This would mean it is physiological in nature; there could be some way in which your endocrine system and/or your neural network is not functioning at optimal levels, which would cause you to feel symptoms of depression.
There is no shame in this; I say that only because so many people who suffer with depression or anxiety etc. are also plagued by a sense of guilt or shame still left over from the unfair judgments made by a culture that was for so long ignorant of the very real, perfectly legitimate causes for these conditions.
None of this is to lessen the importance of spiritual support or camaraderie that you can find with friends and loved ones, or even somewhere like this. We do care about each other here, and we believe in health and healing, obviously; yet there are limits to what can be done outside a health care setting when there is a physical problem. So this recommendation to seek a doctor's professional advice is to validate your problem for what it is: an illness which is treatable. Please do consult your preferred professional health care provider; be totally honest with them about what you are feeling, and later on, how their methods of treatment are or are not working.
Again, I wish you all the best and brightest blessings. Be well!

I am really overwhelmed by the support I have received. Thank you all very much. It's a slow process but I can feel that the depression is lifting gradually. I do not feel quite so awful as I did a little while ago although still a trifle fragile.
My thanks and blessings to you all and Happy Beltane
