Child of the Elements

Postby malcolmb » 25 Aug 2011, 14:44

I am not the first to write a piece of music on this subject (and the others are all wonderful!) but I still hope you enjoy my small offering. There are obviously aspects in it of walking the Bardic Path and no doubt as I now step forth onto the Ovate Path, there will be new musical inspirations to come. I very much look forward to them :wow: - it will remain to be seen if you do when I post them! :-)

I like it Malcolm! I especially like the feel of the voice. Did someone sing for you or did you change your own voice? Or, are you a lady called Malcolm? Anyway, I do like the feel of it very much.

Hugs,

Bronzie

Hi Bronzie - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like it. I suspect the medical procedures to change my voice from male to female would be somewhat eye-watering! :duck: So, it isn't me! I used a piece of software called "Vocaloid Miriam". It's based on the wonderful voice of Miriam Stockley who you will have heard as backing to many of the top bands and groups as well as the lead vocalist on Karl Jenkin's wonderful music, including Adiemus. In principle, all I need to do is write the notes, add the appropriate lyric to each note and then the software sings it. If only it were that easy! Turning each sung note from something sounding like a robot with constipation into something vaguely Miriam-sounding takes a lot of work - which is why most of my music is instrumental! I suppose I ought to add an apology to Miriam Stockley at the end of every vocal piece I write - she definitely deserves it!

Hugs and Blessings
