Hi, first thanks so much for all your kind comments on here. Latest update. Just returned from having a Gastroscopy performed where they pass a camera up the nose, down through the oesophagus into the stomach and duodenum. I watched it all on a tv screen and it was so wierd looking at your own insides. Anyway they took samples for biopsy as I have a condition called Barrett's oesophagus. On the screen it just looks like a darker pink colour to the pink tissue around the wall of the oesophagus.
It is caused by excess acid splashing up from the stomach when the flap designed to stop it isn't working too well.
The Dr. said it's nothing bad and I will have to have the procedure again in two years time. They will control it with medicines. He said it was definately responsible for the symptoms I have had and showed me on the screen how the oesophogus lies so close to the heart you can see the heart beating. So I should be ok with the pills. Also I think nurses are brilliant..

but then I am married to one...
In the meantime I am hungry and because they pump air into the stomach I am more than a little flatulent, so no votive candles lit near me tonight.....
Thanks once again.
