@Angeluque - oh I didn't mean to imply that people Of other faiths don't like it or shooing read it just that, say if you're a huge fan of, say, a tv show and you make lots of referenced to the show in your story: fans of the show will get the references and this that don't know anything about the show won't. That's all I meant by that :)

Greetings!

I am sooo glad that other folks here want to join nanowrimo! This will be my 5th nano year and I just published my first full length novel... directly from my first nano project!! I couldn't be more thrilled.

I encourage anyone who is interested to at least sign up and give it a try. We can support each other through the process!

Let me know if you want to put together a group in Writing Groups. I already enjoy the Cauldron Cafe myself.

Blessings of the listening leaves to you,

Tuar Ceatha

Deadlines are absolute bleeders. I would love to join you "ladies" there in this but I have deadlines of my own. One assignment on Cleopatra to be precise, due in next week and have I done any of it?

Hi,

This year I want to do a young adult story. Not sure if I'm qualified, but I want to try. :)

I've got a basic idea and I wrote an outline at one point... have no idea where it is! LOL

But I'm going to jump in and write and see where it takes me.

What about you? What are you writing on this year?

Peace of the snowy forest to you,

I'm writing literary-fiction/comedy centred around a pagan family. At the moment, it has the title: 'Pagan Story' . I admit that this could work out very well... or be a total disaster. My style of comedy isn't exactly subtle and could get over-powering before the reason for it becomes apparent.

I will post the first chapter in the 'Writers' Grove'. If it gets a good response, I will post more and with others' opinions and editing (read: an over-haul), I hope to try to publish it.

Anyone on the site ever published a fiction book? Would be interested to hear about how the process went for you.

Thank you, Reyna!

I really appreciate it. It's quite a ride.

So, what about you, any ideas yet? Dreams, sketches, characters? Anywhere is a start!

Remember, you can't edit what you haven't written.

But, once it's written, it can always be edited.

Write on!

Some info:

Currently the Nanowrimo site is "down for maintenance" But judging from the errors I got it the servers might be temporarily overwhelmed.

Some of us slightly more experienced wrimos know that the first week nanowrimo servers get HAMMERED from all over the world. After the first 3 - 7 days a lot of people either back off, or drop out.

(BTW: ~~ Don't Drop Out! ~~ I would love to share this craziness with the folks here in this forum. Please stick it out!)

But, even better than that, nanowrimo now has a twitter feed which you can access even if you are not signed up for twitter! In this way, if you are having trouble with the nanowrimo site you can check their twitter feed to see if there's some info there.

And, please let me know if you're going to be in the Caudron Cafe. I'll buy you a (virtual) hot cocoa!

Peace of the living forest to you,

Yeah, I've been trying to get in all evening to see if there were any meet-up groups happening in my area.

I don't have a lot of ideas at the moment, I've been slowly working on idea over the summer but I know I can't use what I've written so far. I have been thinking about starting over completely and seeing what happens-it might be fun at the end to see if the stories traveled the same path or if they become something completely different (but I'm still not sure if that is acceptable, or if you have to start something completely brand new-new idea, new everything).

Lately I've been having a hard time finding kid-friendly pagan halloween/samhain books that aren't over the top. I would love to find something pagany but that I wouldn't have to hide from the in-laws should they show up unannounced. So, might try to write a couple kid friendly stories.

I also have an idea for a story-poem but I foresee that taking days to get the right verse and not nearly enough words. I'm thinking something like this: http://www.jokebuddha.com/joke/Rudolphs_night_off

Greetings and hello Reyna,
Well, I did it. I signed up. I've had a story idea kicking around in my head since May, and I can always come up with an excuse for getting started on it. So, now it looks like I will be taking the plunge. I hope I can keep up with this. :wow:

Hi Julia & Reyna,

Congratulations to both of you on your daring!

Remember that the nanowrimo servers are hammered for the first week, but don't give up.

For my first year, I didn't even get started until the second week! You can sign in and catch up your profile at any time.

The nanowrimo site has the complete and clear rules and I encourage you to read *them* and take my input with a grain of salt, however here are the rules in a tiny nutshell:

Write 50,000 brand new words that create fiction during the month of November and keep them separate from other words you have written at other times so that you can properly count them at the end.

That's it!

You are ready to go and I'm thrilled to have you as companions on this next journey. :tiphat:

Peace of the journey to you,

Tuar Ceatha

(It's founr in the morning here, I was just having 'important' dreams about Halloween and I've been awoken by a mosquito. Buzzing in my ear. One bite on each arm. Nice.)

Problem is, it'll end twelve hours before the rest of you as well! That means I'll be the first winner/not winner! :-| :gulp:

Which means while we're bloodying our fingers on the keyboard trying to sneak in the last 10,000 words you'll be kicked back with a pint ;)
And then we'll have to drink double fast to catch up once midnight hits, lol! :gulp:

Hi Reyna,
Thank you for the words of wisdom. :shake: I have the main idea but I am not sure how it will end. Hmmmm, well off to write an outline. Good luck to everyone! :hiya:
