Twilight Groves

Postby Romelia » 08 Dec 2011, 18:07

Across
the stagnant pools
along the
barren banks
through the sweet rotting mud,
where the
lilies droop,
decay
and
fade…

whispered
melodies
confuse
the wanderings
of those
who
stumble
blindly by…
abused
and
deluded
tripping on
slippery roots
lost amongst the trees.
Their canopy dark
only dappled light
breaks
this
endless
twilight…

Spirits haunt
here,
in
the
hollows,
shallows
the
silent groves
never
sleeping,
drinking deep
the
sorrows
of
yesterdays
pitiful feast…

a thick sweet stench
sinks the soul
lowly
beings
restless
and
roaming alone,
midst
the silent
twilight groves.
