Prior to administering anything, homeopathic or conventional to anyone's diet, pets especially, we feel that personal health history must be considered, and a medical professional should be consulted. There are many instances where even the most "harmless" additive has had contraindications and caused more harm than good. We believe everyone here is responsible and understands that, but it is important to re-state. This is a public forum, viewable by guests as well as members, and is cataloged by most search engines.

Hi Everyone,
Now this is something I don't personally suffer from but I have been asked by a friend of a friend, if I can suggest anything that might help a person suffering from this seasonal condition. The person concerned has suffered with SAD for many years - it starts in October/November and lasts until March/April. Conventional medicine has offered him little help or advice over the years and he did invest in one of those special light box thingys but it didn't help him one little bit. I was thinking along the lines of a natural vitamin supplement perhaps but just wondered if any one here might have some useful suggestions.

At one time I suffered from mild SAD and I also found the full spectrum light to be quite unhelpful ( to have any effect, I had to sit under it for hours every day). One of the things that seemed to have helped me (may be the placebo effect) was to take a multi-vitamin and extra Vitamin D. Expert advice from a homeopath would be best.

He may find a high quality fish oil hepful to boost the vitamin D levels. I would recommend Eskimo oil My wife has had good results with it. A high dose is recommended. The depression cure has the recommended dosages in it :
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0091929814 I can't remember them off the top of my head.
Hope this is helpful.
