SunSoar wrote:Hi everyone! I'm Shaun, I'm 21 and live in Queensland Australia. I was brought up around Catholics, was never overly religious but developed a good moral compass from the influences. Towards the end of high school I went a bit off the rails until a friend invited me to her church. I attended for a while but couldn't get into the experience at all so eventually gave up and went without any kind of religion for a while. I stumbled upon neo-druidry in some random research I was doing and it really "spoke" to me so decided to check it out in more detail.
Anyway I really feel that this is something I should do, I ordered the intro course to check it out and thought it was great, will be ordering the Bard course next week and joining OBOD. Cheers for the welcome in the Aussie thread too, really has a good feel of community :)

Hello Shaun :hiya: And a big welcome to you too! :) We happen to have quite a few people from down under on this board and I'm sure you'll run into them. |-) If you have any questions just shout and, above all, have a great time. :D

Bright Blessings,
Mike :shake:

Hello from the newest royal town in Britain :) I'm mum to 3 boys and wife to my Englishman. I'm Dutch and have been in this lovely country for nearly 11 years now. I've arrived here (the forums) after a long spiritual journey that really started when I escaped the religion of my upbringing (RC) and that lead me from one thing to the next never really finding what I was looking for. A friend recomended me the Druid Animal Oracle and after that the plant oracle and tarot quickly followed and at the same time I started reading about druidism. I am now saving my pennies to start OBOD course :)

Thanks for having me :hiya:

Hello Paikea. I'm relatively new to the forum as well, but the website and the people on it have realy given me some good insight into druidry. Wish you good luck with the course.

Hello from the U.k My name is Nicky (49) , very happily married to my childhood sweetheart, 2 children , 4 grandchildren and one very spoilt dog.

I can't remember a time when I wasn't interested in all things spiritual , I got a reputation at school for being * peculiar* because I talked about being able to hear what the birds were thinking and saying , and that everything had a song and people only had to listen. I became involved over time with many religious groups in the hope that I would find the *answer* as to why I was so *Odd* and not like *other people*. During this time my health deteriorated (under-active thyroid as well as other inherited conditions) and my husband became my carer.
It has taken one illness after another and discovering genetically where these conditions came from, and as a result I found that on all sides of my families and Ancestors I was Celtic.....CELTIC.....this one word led me to a world of dicovery, myth and lore that opened up my soul to a feeling of familiarity and knowledge that had been hidden for so long.
I began to study in my own home, animal lore, herbalism, The Otherworld (Blessed be the silver wheel). These became practicalities , growing our own herbs, taking in stray and injured animals (the local children sometimes bring injured animals to us) and some animals just find their way to our home, we even had a *lost* dog come to stay for 3 days, when we found his owner, he told us that his dog likes to *go on holiday*.
And even though I sit here with nasty smelly ulcerated legs (after result of on operation  ) I know that this is actually a blessing(the ulcers popped my oedema so I no longer have water logged legs :) )......
I long for more knowledge , the herbal medicines I take (along with conventional medicines) are doing their job.
So i found my way to your boards and am seriously thinking of training to be an Ovate, after all the ovate qualities seem to have been within me for sometime , now I need to let them grow.
Blessed be to all . )0(

Hallow all,
I'm 38 (that = 11 I feel this is fortuitous) anyway, I've been a druid my whole life I only realized it about 8 or 9 years ago.
I really don't know why I'm here on this site since I've been on my own for years. I didn't really read other introductions beyond just a scant few.
But, I assume since I'm here doing this I should fill you in on some details... I am nearly 50% English/Irish/Scottish and nearly 50% Finish although I do have Native American, Mongolian and french blood. I am quite psychic an emphatic, natural healer and I talk to trees.
I've been naturally aware of nature all my life. My druid ancestors have visited me in my dreams and other visions all my life as well.

I guess I'm curious to see what others insights are if any at all (what I mean by this is that I'm curious if, and how many others have had similar experiences, specifically with druid ancestry)
I've spend months out in the mountains alone observing trees most specifically, as well as conversing with the free spirits and elemental's. I happened to be on a portal for about 3 months under what I feel are some sacred Native American petroglyphs. The trees are alive and have much more for the human family than could ever be expressed, they are waiting for us to wake up from our Piscean slumber to reactivate the earths portals which they, as far as I can tell, play a big part in. I can't say for sure but that's the feeling I get.
That's who I am hence the circumambulation (Damn, just realized my nametag is wrong "curcumambulation"??? 8-) oops. Oh well get to fix it. ) I've been going to a Native American Sweat Lodge for about 5 years now. It is so far the closest thing to what my heart desires that I've found. It uses much the same earth based energies as druidity. I've been very pleased with it. Oh yea my name is Taylor by the way.

You can expect me to disappear from this forum within a month or so, so pick my knowledge base while you can. Ask me anything you want, if spirit (the higher self) lets me answer I will.
As the atavistic-adamantine, I bring forth the quintessential and irrevocable predication of sublime intervention toward the dissemination of the pernicious class that has inseminated itself upon the spiritual, to irrevocably bring it to inevitable end.

Oh yeah, I feel I must add that I am an infinitist. Meaning that I Fallow the infinite. I was shown the infinite at age four while playing in the sand box, the infinite is very important. It shows how we are all each other. we are the animals, trees, birds, insects, fishes and even the earth its self. Our spirit is part of hers and also part of the sun.

May the seeds of life fall gently on you all.
May the seeds of awareness propagate this world.

Slainte! I'm Aynfean.

I'm 27, living just outside of Vancouver, Canada. I've been a practising hedgewitch for about 10 years. In that time I've gone down a lot of different paths: Wicca, Hermetics, and the Left Hand Path to name a few but none has ever really "fit". Druidry has always called to me but I've never had the opportunity to study. Finally after a post by a friend on the Pagan Blog Project about his experience with the Bardic course I decided to just bite the bullet. The mentioned relationship to shamanism was really what sealed the deal for me.

It's been a number of years since I've had any formal study. Not since my Wicca initiation studies about 6 years ago! Really looking forward to studying and also joining the community. I have been longing for a community connection very deeply for the last year or so.

Nice to meet you all!
