We have these things called "washing machines"... :grin:

Yep, that's a concern for those of us in south La., too. Although most of the folks in my grove wear white robes, none are hooded and we only robe up for rituals held in our members' backyards or for the rare indoor ceremony. When we hold public outdoor rituals, we just wear street clothes.

Selene, I have had a few friends make similar comparisons, alas. We do have ugly historical figures, ehh?

Ah! An excellent thread about druidic threads! I can't wear white. Feels so wrong to me. I want to be able to disappear when robed. I am about to execute a dark green sheet. I will add other bits to break up the monotome and make it more likely to blend with the eucalypts at least a bit. I'd considered the tabard over white idea, but it just doesn't want to sit comfortably with me. I'll be green. that's how I roll :D

I don't yet have a robe as I have been remiss in designing and sewing one. It is on my list of things to do, but like others I have had trouble deciding on color. I think I am going to do a green(to link to earth) and silver lining (to link to the moon). But that may change in the future.

Thinking of having a ceremonial robe, but unsure where to get one, or even to get a pattern to dare make or have made. Cloak, robe, hooded, unhooded. With such diversity in the order the choices are endless. Any suggestions for the finish article or indeed patterns though are well received.

I wondered about this too. When I picture a druid, I think of Radagast the Brown (one of Gandalf the Grey's order) but NOT the version in the new hobbit movie. Browns and greens and dignity. But as a writer/writing teacher/singer I suspect I will always associate myself with the bardic blue, regardless of how far I go in obod. I found a place that makes real habits, Glenfront Habitry, I think it's called, and they do one in denim, both a short and a long version, which sounds perfect. Now I just have to save up for it...

And maybe eventually a green cloak...

here it is finally the long awaited pictures of the robe of crimson stormfire! albeit without me in it, like i said it is only the outer cloak and hood right now, still hunting for that perfect robe pattern......this one was handmade by me, (using a sewing machine due to lack of skill at hand sewing anything including buttons :-) }
