We lost 2 of our beautiful girls to a pair of foxes yesterday evening.
For someone who has recently been trying to come to terms with 'being me' and 'feeling' my emotions again, this event has taught me so much:
Fear, and dread when my partner called to tell me what had happened;
Pain, loss and grief when he told me they had died;
Compassion, forgiveness and understanding to my partner, who with the best of intentions had let them stay out in the garden for a little longer whilst he went to the shop (despite my saying they should always be put in as it gets dark) - everyone makes mistakes;
The importance of spirit - the surviving girl who was always the pluckiest, hid herself in a pile of leaves until my partner came home and then ran straight into the house (despite both cats being in there) before being taken to the vets;
Hope, as despite a wound under her wing, heavy shock and the loss of a lot of feathers, we have been told by the vet is doing fine.
and finally both understanding and enlightenment for all of the above.
I have thanked the spirits of Star (left) and Pi (centre) for their lessons but if anyone would be able to send Boo (right) healing energy, we would both hugely appreciate it.
