Other Worlds

Postby grayjk » 18 Mar 2012, 16:39

So I was thinking the other day about space travel, and I thought about nwyfre. From what I understand, half of the nwyfre in the world comes down from the sun and sky, and the other half comes up from deep within the earth itself. After all, Druidry is a religion which worships the earth as a giver of life. So I was thinking, imagine a colony that is on mars or the moon or the like, or really far away from the sun. Would such a colony be possible without the presence of nwyfre? Or does every world have nwyfre of its own? Or only life bearing worlds?

Thoughts?

My understanding would be that it'll take a while, but you'd find it there in time. Humans living there will bring something with them, whether you call in nwyfre or whatever. As we spread, so too would the life-giving force we require. Even trapped in a geodesic dome, humans will create an ecosystem. Once it hits equilibrium, be that through terraforming or little enclosed domes, nwyfre is there.

Now the real question is whether Mars has its own equivalent, its own deep and hidden life. What might be natural on Earth may be a cancer upon the existing energy of the lands. At that point, who is to say whether nwyfre is universally a 'good thing' just because it serves humans?
