I'm George, 38, married, living in Indianpolis, Indiana. I started the bardic course last Fall and have enjoyed it along with other books, podcasts, and such. Why druidry? Like most of you here, it simply resonates with me. It calms me, centers me, makes me feel alive, and connected to all the glorious life around me. I am fortunate to have a fantastic wife that supports me in my journey even though she doesn't follow the same path. I've been fairly solitary in my studies up until this point simply because I don't know any others on the druidic path. I hope to change that soon.

Thank you so much. I wanted to see if I understood about how to enter the Bard forum...do I need to wait for the 3rd course shipment? The shipment I received was information about the OBOD and info on if I wanted to join, but I thought I already joined for the course. Im making the 12 monthly payment threw paypal. Maybe this is the 1st shipment in the course. I just want to make sure I got all the information right. Any info or help would be greatly appriciated. Thank you.

Hi Jamey. You need Gwers 3. I don't exactly recall if that came with my first or second month's materials, but I believe it was with the first (after the introductory materials). So you should be up and running in no time.

Sorry about the late reply Jamey. Just email here if you have problems: obodforumaccess@druidry.org

Or you can go to the "Deeper into the Forest" forum at the bottom of this board for any directions. :D

I hope this helps,

Hi!

My name is Eri, I'm in my mid-thirties, and I live near Chicago in the US. I just got my Bardic coursework over the weekend! ((YAY!))

During the day I'm an accounting clerk, but in the night and over the weekends, I'm a writer and an artist. I don't have any kids, but I do have two cats and a boyfriend! I'd been wandering this long, twisty path through the forest for a long time and, recently, while listening to the Druidcast, I stumbled from the tangled forest into a glade of light and birdsong. I knew that I was exactly where I was supposed to be and began looking into druidry. I found myself drawn in to this path by the sense of humor, depth of understanding, and the very serious, careful attention to the arts, the natural world, ritual, and knowledge of druidry.

Anyway ... It's really nice to meet you all!

Hello all... Blessings to you all.
My name is Christle and I live near Seattle, WA USA. I have always been drawn to Druidry though I have only started to embrace this path over the last couple of years. I have been looking for the right place for me, a place to learn that is a good fit and ended up here. After reading through the materials and much meditation, it has been shown to me that this is where I belong.

I am the mother of two fabulous, now grown babies. Yeah, I know. They are not babies but they will always be my babies. A 22 year old daughter and 20 year old son who support me in all that I do.

Since finding this path I have become a new person and continue to change the further I walk this path. I look forward to being able to continue and to learn from everyone here. )O(

Hi everyone,
I'm Jacki and I'm 57 going on 58 - even though inside my head I'm still a young 'un!! I've been with OBOD for 5 years or so now and finally entered the Ovate Grade at the beginning of this year. I'm originally from Middlesex but relocated to Somerset in November 1995 - close to Glastonbury and also close to Wells.
Since completing the Bardic Grade, I seem to be giving myself permission to get more involved with the Order. Funny how the mind works on such things - but I feel as if I have a 'right' to get further involved now. I guess I must feel more committed or something like that.
Anyway, here I am - another step deeper into the Forest!!

Hi all,

My name is Shawn and I've recently started the bardic training course. I'm 46 and live with my hubby of 25 years and our daughter who will be starting college soon. My interest in Druidry came about as part of my healing journey from past trauma, and I'm especially interested in that aspect of it. I've developed a fair knowledge of herbs and natural healing, which I continue to study, and I hope to contribute to the OBOD Druid College of Healing once I attain ovate grade. In my opinion, even the most well-adjusted people can benefit from a closer relationship with nature.

I'm fascinated with the material I've received so far, the introduction and the first month's lessons, and feel I've finally found something I can believe in and holds truth as I sense it to be. It's almost like rediscovering something in me that had been buried or stolen. I'm anxious to learn what this path reveals and am grateful for the opportunity to share it on this wonderful message board.

Thanks all,

Shawn

I'd like to say hello, I met Philip and talked briefly before his presentation here in Portugal last week, and by coincidence, which in my dictionary is spelled destiny is that I come from just up the road from him.

A couple of dates of interest. 2nd Feb, birthday, and today Beltane, when after having spent a good day in the garden planting out new crops, signed up for the OBOD bard course, having planted the seeds for the season ahead on both counts. Writer, wildlife conservationist, journalist, (of sorts), father, many years a seeker and linked to ancient roots in England by a yearning to bring the Somerset sensation of standing atop Cadury Castle, the Tor, Chalice Well, GA, etc into my everyday life here in Portugal.

Have witnessed sunrise at the summit of Kilimanjaro, and skydived into sunsets which have turned the sky red. Have got lost in life and wandered, but each footstep on my dusty path has been one of enlightenment. Have almost died, unashamedly cried, and have taken my ego and thrown it into the wind.

Yes, I do have a big and long greying beard, but I understand that is no longer a compulsory requirement of being a druid...

Matthew.
