Medicine Feather

Postby MPutnam » 07 Apr 2012, 04:35

This is my "Medicine Feather" carving. It is modeled on a bald eagle feather and hand carved in American Black Walnut (Juglans nigra). I also made the sealant with a mixture of olive and sunflower oils and beeswax.

I carved this today for my father-in-law, who gifted me the wood.

2012 BELTANE/SAMHUINN PHYSICAL ART ENTRIES

Postby Anwin » 11 Apr 2012, 19:30

This I made for my mother when she was in grief, and I felt so little, trying to offer solace.
... It helped. The wood I used were building blocs from my little brother.

You shouldn't believe everthing the gods tell you, they might say something different another day.

To be someone is to be no-one, I am no-one.
Belief from within lets the magic begin.
