Re: Make contact with a god/dess

I found myself in the same scenario attempting to contact Gods and never having any luck. The concept of a God/Goddess seemed a bit far fetched because if you are a logical person these things defy the standard logical thinking.

I went about it in a different way that worked for me. I never got any kind of direct contact with a God/Goddess like some say they experience, I'm not one to read something out of nothing so reading between the lines wasn't for me. Afterall a God should have the power to communicate with us without having us read into something right? I began looking at Gods/Goddesses as spirits or beings over somewhere else (Dimensional beings?) as opposed to the Christian type of concept as to what a God is.

So the first place I decided to tackle this was ghosts. If I could get a positive response from an intelligent being that defied my logical thinking then a God/Goddess isn't implausible. Short story is I got my answer... Several times.

But that direct communication with a God still wasn't there, I never really subscribed personally from the "Don't call us, we'll call you" theory because... Well I wanted that communication. I want the enlightenment, I want the perspective of another being that isn't of this realm/world, not to change me but to learn from it. I've always personally felt more drawn to my blood, I truely believe that our bloodlines hold a closer bond to specific Gods/Goddesses and even religious views. It's not to say that an Irish person isn't allowed to be a believer/practitioner of Voodoo but I think there is a higher chance of synergy and success involving yourself with where your ancestors came from. believed and worshiped.

I've gone through several studies based off my family background which is what lead me to Druidry ultimately. But I have studied Norse beliefs and practiced Odinism. It was then when I was first contacted by Gods and it was them, I am a bit of a personal mixture of the two beliefs and practices. I've come to terms with it and view Odinism as the reflection of my physical self where Druidry is the reflection of my spiritual self. I am a spiritual person and so the beliefs and practices of Druidry have won out, but I still hold the loyalty of Odinism and I cannot deny it for those are the first and only Gods that have ever contacted me.

It may not happen, or it may be down the road as to when it happens. But like many I would say, if you seek it out eventually you will find it. Being drawn to nature is a good thing, and in a way it is the most primal thing of all. Nature is what I consider the omnipotent God & Goddess rolled into one, it is the energy and life force which binds us all. There's no reason to consider that your draw to nature isn't a direct contact of a God/Goddess. Just because it may not have the face of a man or woman doesn't mean it isn't.

I've never had the slightest interest in contacting god/desses, but several months ago I was contacted in an extremely vivid dream and told to make a sacrifice to the goddess Vivienne. I was even shown exactly where I was to make this sacrifice. I wasn't actually aware that this particular character was a goddess, but having then done a bit of research it seems she was very popular in Brittany. I've made the object I want to sacrifice (a horse made of cold porcelain) and now it's just a matter of finding the lake I was shown in the dream. I don't get the feeling that it's in Brittany. I can't help wondering what's going to happen after I find the place.
