Tori and The Awen

Postby kukl » 02 Jul 2012, 20:48

Tori Amos seems to have embraced druidry with her recent album 'Night of Hunters'. I'm not going to write an album review but there's some great music here, including a song about the Beth - Luis-Nion tree alphabet. But best of all is a retelling of the Celtic legend of Cerridwen (keeper of the Awen ) and Gwion Bach. Magical!

Tori is a genius. I've never had the pleasure of seeing her perfrom live, but she seems heaps more natural in her younger days from what I've seen on youtube. Her performance of Winter in Montreux '91/'92 is one of the best live performances by a solo artist I've ever seen. She made the song come alive in that performance.

I'll check out that album, thanks for letting us know! I'm just starting to learning about Cerridwen myself. It's pretty scarey when legends like this start talking to you through things in every day life.

Her music has always drawn me. I will have to look for this newest album.
