The topic of this post is Hospitality and Volunteering.
I am a member of www.couchsurfing.org
and also of wwoof.ie. My partner and I are currently travelling around Britain and we've had some wonderful experiences. We attended the OBOD Summer Assembly and from that met a few druids who invited us to stay with them as we travelled around. We did.
The druids we stayed with we met through chance encounters. There are plenty of us around who'd love to host a travelling fellow OBODie. Also, I'm sure many of us have projects that could benefit from a few WWOOFers/volunteers in exchange for bord. There must be a way to make it possible to put one in touch with the other.
What do people think? Should we create a list of people who use networks like WWOOF, Couchsurfing, HelpXchange and so on? Or would there be a more site specific way to get this going? Perhaps we could have a forum where folk who are looking for volunteers/hosts.
I would really love to hear your thoughts on this.
