searching for my druid spiritual path

Postby lancsbard » 23 Aug 2012, 17:52

six years ago i completed the bardic course, i love the arts and it seemed a good thing to do at the time, plus i love all things druid.
The only thing that is missing is a spiritual path, the problem i have is,that i don't believe in any gods or anything supernatural. I love the myths, tales etc and i see those type of things as a learning tool only. I don't consider myself a atheist, I meditate every day and follow the wheel of the year etc I love Nature, I have a deep reverence for nature.
Can druidry include atheism, naturalism, Pantheism etc. I am at a lose in which way to go ?

Blessings

I don't feel that my spirituality was able to run free until I finally lost the chains of superstition....I also feel I have found more spiritual non-theists in OBOD druidry than I ever imagined existed! Good luck with your searchings. :cloud9:

I'm a spiritual naturalist. I don't subscribe to supernatural ideas, yet I follow what I call my spiritual path, the development and expression of who and what I am.

I think you may have found your spiritual path, but just don't recognize it as such.

If living and acting in Druidic manner fills your heart and warms your blood, you are going in the right direction.
May the long time sun shine upon you,
All love surround you,
And the pure light within you,
Guide your way on.

Sounds like you are already doing everything you need to do to be a druid! And If you are enjoying your meditations, double down!

lancsbard, you seem to be afflicted with something all too common in our spiritual experiences, namely feeling like you have to fit into somebody else's definition of what you "are," rather than creating your own definition (or not!)--it is up to you. This is one of the refreshing things I take away with me over the few years of druidry I have been following; it is common to wrestle with authority, especially the authority that has power over spirituality and beliefs, though we (individually, at least) do not need anybody's approval for what we believe. That is for me integral with being a druid.

In this way, there may not be an objective answer here; that is for us to individually come up with for ourselves.

Lancsbard, you're not the only one that enjoys the tales and practices but feels no need to subscribe to beliefs in supernatural occurances.

I think I'd re-phrase that as "struggles with beliefs in supernatural occurances" :)
