I'm thankful that my computer broke, forcing me to other avenues of entertainment, and motivating me to check out the library.

I'm thankful for this forum! :D

I'm also thankful for the really nice house we managed to buy, when so many others can't afford to get out of the rent trap. It had everything we wanted...plus a bit more.
Bigger rooms would have been nice, (wouldn't they always?) but I guess the generous front and back yard, the huge shed and the biggest lounge room I've ever seen, kinda makes up for it. :D
Oh yeah...and not only a second toilet like I wanted so badly...but a second shower as well! (both downstairs) How cool is that?

I'm thankful for the money that (seemingly came randomly and unexpectedly out of nowhere) funded my entire druid course. (I was able to pay in full, straight up) Without it, I wouldn't have had a hope of coming up with that much cash by myself. I'd given up hope of ever affording it. :cloud9:

I'm thankful I have a loving and doting partner who adores me, despite my...challenging...nature sometimes, lol!
Don't tell him I said that though, or I'll have to grease his head so it'll fit through doorways...and he makes enough mess as it is. :P

I'm thankful for my couch, where I can go when my back yard is being torn apart. :x

Today I am thankful that I woke up, the sky is blue and the air is cool for a change. I am thankful that my animals and husband is in good health and that my moms husband is being released from the hospital. I am thankful that I have found OBOD and that I am now able to follow a call from the goddess.

I am thankful for the plentiful rain flooding from the solid, grey sky. We have been in need of a good shower for quite some time. I am also thankful for the breezes that hit you just right on a hot day. I am thankful for the thunder that wakes you up when you doze off in class.

Breathing. Every other condition of happiness can be worked around, but gotta have breathing first. Every moment a miracle.

I'm Thankful that I was able to install the windshield for my motorcycle for the winter, and also that my dogs, though still digging in the yard, didn't chew through my sprinkler system again.

I'm thankful for bards who can resolve the joy and pain of loving and having to part like this:

"I'll not blame my partial fancy;
Nothing could resist my Nancy.
But to see her was to love her;
Love but her, and love for ever.

Had we never lo'ed sae kindly,
Had we never lo'ed sae blindly,
Never met - nor never pairted -
We had ne'er been broken-hairted."

And I'm thankful for the cafe owner who asked me to sing at a Burns Supper next January, and thus prompted me to learn these powerful words - and the wonderful tune to them - off by heart!
(Robert Burns: "Ae fond kiss" search YouTube for it. Take your pick of Kenneth MacKellar (classical) or The Corries (folk). They're equally intense.)

Blessings,
Jack Greenman

Grateful for the reminder of this song – particularly the version by the Voice Squad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Juvowm_1aWw who I was also grateful to hear live last month.

I am thankful for the food in my belly, the money in my wallet and the roof over my head. But most importantly, I'm thankful for the love of my small but amazing family.

I'm thankful for my musical instruments. My new Estonian Kannel arrived yesterday, yes from Estonia!

If there were truly justice in the world, a person like myself would be able to earn a living and support his family with the music from such beautiful instruments instead of having to slave away my life doing work that has nothing to do with such beautiful music!

On the left is my new Kannel, posed to the right is my 2 year old Russian Gusli. Both from the same instrument maker. I use these to soothe pain and play for people in hospitals as well as in occasional local social events and get-togethers.

I have some samples up on soundcloud. None yet of the new Kannel of course since I want to let it acclimate and settle in before playing it too much, nor of the concert Kantele (61 strings) which I picked up just last weekend from a close friend.

Most samples are on my Gusli, a few of my Finnish Kantele and a couple are from a recent session with the Southern Ontario Dulcimer Association (SODA).
