I'm Karen, and live in North Carolina, USA. I joined the Awen's Light Grove (ALG) online meetup a couple months ago, and after following them for a bit, decided to introduce myself in person at Pagan Pride Festival in Raleigh, NC a couple weeks ago, which convinced me to join OBOD. The Druid Path is not new to me; I have counted myself a Druid for some 15 years, and have been studying and learning mostly on my own - other than involvement with "non-denominational pagan" groups through the Unitarian Universalist Church, and casual involvement with an informal Druid group here in NC a few years ago. I grew up with a fairly traditional (but also liberal) Christian mom & an atheist/agnostic dad, and had some interesting experiences with that! But, after spending a fair amount of time studying various types of religious/spiritual practices, and finding that both all of them fit, and none of them fit, I raised my kids as pagan Unitarian Universalists. I won't share my age, but I will say that those kids are now 29 and 25 years old!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and participating in this community!

Great to meet you! I'm up here in Washington State, also with a degree in mathematics, working to get a job teaching it hopefully soon. welcome to the forums. I haven't been here to much longer but find them wonderful in so many ways... Also shy and loving the Druid teachings for OBOD. finally after living a life where I knew I should be, jumping in with both feet. Where are you at in the Gwers? I'm just moving into the set 20-24. Yay!

I'm 55 (ouch!). I live in the Sonoran Desert, in southern Arizona, USA. I have a degree in Mathematics. For money, I'm a computer software engineer.

I'm what you'd call "slow to warm", which is what we say about very shy people these days.

I'm taking the OBOD bards' course, but slowly. In my better days, I was always aware of and in contact with my natural environment and a peace-nik , now looking to recapture that ethos in my life, and druidry appears to be the compatible way. Looking for ways to reconcile the Druid teachings with a more austere (but no less enchanting) landscape here in my beautiful desert.

Hello, everyone! My name is Gabrielle and I'm 21 years old. I live in Culpeper, Virginia and work, and this is a bit embarrassing, at our local Walmart in the Dairy cooler.
For some time now I've been trying to find my place when it comes to spirituality. I tried looking into many different religions and paths. When I was young, I tried Christianity and in my teen and adult life I've tried Paganism, Wicca and even Buddhism. None of them really connected with me. And then I discovered Animism and the path of Druidry. The more I read, the more I said,"My goodness! That sounds like me!"
Even when I was young I felt a connection with spirits and the natural world. I've always loved animals and being in nature and I feel more content watching a river flow by then watching tv. I belief in an afterlife and re-incarnation and I even believe in some mythical creatures.
I live in a very Christian-based town so it's very hard not only to find others like myself but to talk to others about my beliefs as well. I feel like they would look down on me.
I'm still learning about Druidry so I'm not entirely sure if all of my beliefs follow that path but, I feel like this is where I belong and I hope to make many like-minded friends here.
