I write year round, although it does sometimes fall off after NaNo largely because of my RSI in my wrist. For the rest of the year I blog, and dabble with stories. This year so far hasn't been so good for stories but I'm starting to feel the itch to begin the revision work on my NaNo project from 2011, that's writing right?

Usually I've got a few different projects on the go, right now is no exception. However life's kinda been kicking the stuffing out of me lately and the writing has suffered.

i write all year round, but i love the discipline and adrenaline rush of nanowrimo, and so i'm in scriptfrenzy, which is their regular script-writing event, held every april. the conditions are the same as the novel writing event, except that the goal is a minimum of one hundred pages of script - about three and a third pages a day. but you gotta get in quick. it starts the day after tomorrow - on april fools' day!

NaNoWriMo 2012

Postby Hairy Woman » 01 Oct 2012, 13:58

Hi guys, I hope you've all had a wonderfully productive year! NaNoWriMo is only a month away once again. I was wondering if anyone was interested in participating this year, and if so, should we start a new topic, or continue on in this one?

I have just joined A Round of Words in 80 Days [ http://aroundofwordsin80days.wordpress.com/blog/ ], which is a three-month challenge where you set your own goals and report back. I won't be doing NaNoWriMo (although many on ROW80 will) but I'll certainly be writing. If you don't mind me stealing some of the energy of this thread for my own projects, that is :D

Blessings of the quills!

I'm back for another year of writing madness! I've even set up a write-in in my area for the four Saturday mornings in November. I've checked in with the Cauldron Cafe forum on the nano site, too.

My book sales have been going well locally. Haven't really branched out yet, but it's still done well enough for me.

I put out a trio of short stories on Kindle, just to keep up the momentum because I'm not finished with the editing of the second novel. It's really daunting emotionally to me. I find it hard to finish things.

So what would be better than to start something else! ;-)

I've been working on the excercises from 90 Day Novel to get warmed up. My Pagan Writers Group meets again this Sunday which will also be helpful.

Do I sound excited? I am totally excited!

Whispers of the woods to you,

I look forward to reading everyone's work again, this year - no matter how complete it may be at November's end! And if you're writing, I don't think anyone minds whether or not it's for NaNoWriMo, Kima. :) Just let us have a nose! :-)

Thanks! I'm looking forward to having company. It can get a little lonely to write.

Greetings,

Agreed on the lonely road of the bard!

I've already been checking in at the Cauldron Cafe for Nano, and happy, happy to check in with fellow writers here!

I hope that we can again stir the cauldron of the muses in this cul de sac of spirituality. I really enjoyed writing with others of like mind!

Peace of the deep forest to you,

Just two days to go! Anyone kicking off at midnight on 10/31?

That's usually too much for me, especially a week night!

Peace,

TC

not midnight, but early. i often get in the early hours to commune with my thoughts and it's an ideal time for me to nano.

i love the way there's a category named nanocheats. my attempt this year is a satirical novel set in the future that i began to write way back in the early nineties. it got 'bogged down', but i think i can find my way round the problem. so i'm actually rewriting it, based loosely on the old handwritten ms, which is partially cheating. it was my second attempt at an adult novel and i sort of like it so i thought i'd give it another go.

Hey wyeuro,

I think that's awesome. Those old stories that have stuck with us for so long deserve a good polishing. If you're still thinking about it then you are compelled by it. If you're compelled by it then you'll do right by it.

Blessings and peace,

TC

Three hours to go, and I still have no idea what to write. Can anyone kick-start my imagination? What genre are you writing? What (in a nutshell) is your idea? :where:

Hi,

I'm working on a story about a modern day prophet and the disciple whose life she changes.

If someone sleepy said to you right now,"Tell me a story!" what would you tell?

That might be a good place to start.

Up at 6am, woohoo!

Writing about two sisters living in the same building with their husbands and the village where they are situated. One of them has children and lives quite a conservative life while the other ends up divorcing. It's loosely based on family history.

i'm doing a satirical future fantasy - you might call it magical reality. after a series of catastrophes engineered by a monopolistic almagamation of megapowers (the Holistic Unity Government, or *H*U*G*) to decimate the population, it now tightly mind-controls the populace through a totally invasive internet - all except a small percentage of feral humans, who have fled to the radiation poisoned zones and gone wild. bold bounty hunters risk their lives to bring home fleeing delinquents for rehabilitation and restoration to their grieving families. my story is about a group of bounty hunters who get captured by the ferals...
i put more than 2000 words up today, so i'm happy. i'm using CeltX for software. it's quite good. :)

Beannachtaí,

Not blogging, but nice that you are!

I am hanging out in the nano forums and I hosted a local write in this morning. It was awesome! I love encouraging people to write!
