Hello Anna, :hiya:

Welcome to the board. :shake: As to research this site http://www.druidry.org is a good place to start. |-) As to the other, there a couple of Forums on the Board to post your thread: The Art of the Seer in The Otherworld section is one such Forum. My appologies for not understanding you. When you mentioned the prophetic dreams you had, I thought steering you to that forum was the best option. If it's just general research you are after, there are quite a few forums that would fit, such as; Our Celtic Studies forum in the Circle of Stones Section or even just a general post in the Hearthfire. :D

Sorry again for the mis-understanding. :tiphat:

Hello Everyone,

My name is Sara, though I prefer to be called Aura or Azrael. I am 22 years old, though at the end of summer, I will be 23. I live in Minnesota in the USA. I just joined this forum, because I have been wanting to join the OBOD since around July of 2012. Druidry is something that I feel has been my calling for a long time now, but I never knew what to refer to it as. I've always been told I have "healing hands", and a "green thumb", and one random night laying in bed with my thoughts, it occurred to me that Druids may be a real thing. The next day, I spent all day researching the OBOD website, learning about it, and the Druid ways. While I still do not feel confident enough to call myself a Druid (though I would love to), with the help of my mom, I have ordered the introductory package as well as two books written by members in the OBOD. I have researched American Orders, but they do not give me the same feel as the OBOD. I am hoping to be able to become a full member of the OBOD sometime this year.

I was raised in a Christian household, though I feel the beliefs were more pushed, or forced, onto me. Over the past several years, I've walked off that path, as nothing in it makes much sense to me anymore. Thankfully my Christian mother is open-minded and has been helping me and encouraging me to find my path.

I have been trying to find people whom I may be able to relate to spiritually, or who may be able to help me with this path into Druidism.

As it is in the middle of winter, with a good bit of snow and around 0 degrees farenheit, I find it hard to get outside and attune with nature. I also feel in my household, I have to keep my beliefs hidden from my mother's boyfriend, because I feel he would not accept or respect them. I am a bit of a music and technology junkie, I always listen to music when I can, and I play video games and browse the internet a lot. In many ways, it is the only way I can really communicate with people, as in real life, I suffer from anxiety when it comes to people and social settings. It is something I am trying to overcome, but it is a long, hard process.

I am currently enrolled in a school, doing the online campus, trying to get a degree in Healthcare.

Hello,

I am from Sandy, Utah. I am 48 years young and I have been struggling for years with finding that spiritual focus that will help me feel grounded. Last year, I came across a book on pagan religions. I began researching Wicca as that was what I was originally drawn to but it was not quite right. I then learned a bit about druidism and the more I have read, the more I believe it is for me. I am excited to learn more and start my education and understanding. While I imagine I will be practicing alone, a forum like this may be the answer to giving me support and guidance.

I have always done for myself. Putting myself through college and working hard. One thing that always bothered me about traditional religions (forgive me if I am using the wrong adjective), was that they almost all male centric. Where is mother nature or the goddess? I am not a feminist per se but I am skeptical of one sided religions. There should be a balance IMO. This is another reason I am drawn to pagan religions.

I feel empowered when I am in nature. I can hike for hours or enjoy sitting in a pine forest smelling the fragrances and listening to the sounds. In fact, my favorite place in the world is Yellowstone National Park where I feel the stress leave me and I can sit for hours watching wolves and other wildlife. I have always felt the wolf was my "totem" spirit and would love to understand what the significance of that is. Additionally, any guidance on where or how I should start my druid path would be appreciated.

I am married and have three wonderful dogs who are the joy in my life.

Thank you!

Denise

Hi all,

My name is Jason I am a 27 year old male from Pueblo Colorado. Looking for other Druids in the area that may be interested in study, celebration chat. Otherwise, im open to any conversation. To give you a little background I am a biologist. I have a masters and bachelors in biology from colorado state university pueblo. I have volunteered in raptor (bird of prey) rehabilitation for 15 years and environmental education for just as long. I have been studying druidry for about five years now but just joined OBOD recently. I am enjoying the study even though some of the information is the same as I have read in my many books and the exercises are familiar it helps sometimes to re-enforce and re-examine. I joined mostly for the community and a chance to share with other druids around the world.

Feel free to email me turnerecc@gmail.com

:hiya: hello there!

My name is M'artha, and i live in Groningen, the Netherlands.
I'm 34 year old and proud mother of a son. I followed a long and winding path trough christanity, witchcraft, wicca and now druidry. I have reached my destination :trisk: In real lif I'm a teacher at the university, and i am a doctor who also studied Homeopathy . I am part of a seedgroup in The north of the Netherlands, we celebrate the seasons together.
I've been studying the Bardic grade on and of since 2004, but now i'm seriously restudying and finding it ( again) very illuminating . But, since i llive in the Netherlands, i've been trying to acces the Dutch memebers only board. The email adress mentioned bij Selene does not seem to work, not even after some serious retry

can anybody help me please?

Welcome to the Board M'artha. :shake: I think I might be able to help you. Go back to the Board Index Page, scroll down to The Wider Landscape Section of this board. Then Click on the Subforum called Bij Het Haardvuur. The mentor there is Melkboer you can PM or Email him and he should be able to help.

Also here is the Dutch site as well: http://www.druiderij.nl/

In the mean time I'll ask about to see if any other Admin can help as well. :D

Cheers,
Michael

Hi, M'artha,

To gain access to the OBOD members' areas on this board, including the Dutch Bards' forum, Nederlands, see viewtopic.php?f=247&t=30632. When you send in your information, just tell the Gatekeeper that you'd also like access to the Nederlands forum and he'll get things fixed up for you.

Blessings,

hi there
this is more of an re-introduction really. i joined back in 2009 and since then have had a few problems that kept me away, then other things popped up that kept me busy and you know how it all goes around and around.
i am finally in a more settled state and find myself in a place where i can now focus more on my path...i have been a pagan for many years (i am just coming up to 46) but started to look into druidry around 2008/9 and it all made so much sense to me. i recently had someone on another forum say how it was like coming home and this is how i have been feeling for some time now. so i am determined to become more active here and hopefully find some of the people i have been talking to are here as well :)

Hello, my name is Julie. I'm 40 years old and live in western North Carolina in the USA. I've studied the druid path in my quiet slow way for many years, and felt it was time to become a little less solitary and reach out to community by joining OBOD. My first gwersi are on the way and I'm excited to get started. Bright blessings to all and I look forward to learning and interacting you.

Greetings to everyone.
My name is Maureen, I'm 28 and I live in Belgium.
I have been attracted to druidry since ever :D but sadly never had the calm in my life and heart necessary to start the journey. But life has changed and I'm starting to feel really ready.
I have been reading and listening to the introduction package which really inspired me. I have also just finished "What do druids beleive" and "Druid Mysteries" by Philip Carr Gomm which is very interesting too. I'm listening to the podcast and appreciate so much that beautifull community that Damh the bard presents.
I was hoping to start the bardic course in july when I finish my evening class but there is the international OBOD gathering in the ardennes (Belgium) before that and only members can join. So I'm thinking of starting earlier.
On the other hand, I'm starting the third chapter of Living Druidry by Emma Restall Orr and all though I like what I'm reading, I'm not sure I'm ready for that right from the start. Now I know she's been an ovate teacher of the OBOD for several years and Philip recommends her books in his books. I'm just "puzzled" that's really the word.
I also have The Druid Way by Philip Carr Gomm and Kissing the Hag by Emma Restall Orr which I haven't read yet.
Could somebody tell me where I can post about this and get advice from somebody who has already walked this path.
Kind regards,
Maureen

Now I know she's been an ovate teacher of the OBOD for several years and Philip recommends her books in his books. I'm just "puzzled" that's really the word.
I also have The Druid Way by Philip Carr Gomm and Kissing the Hag by Emma Restall Orr which I haven't read yet.
Could somebody tell me where I can post about this and get advice from somebody who has already walked this path.
Kind regards,
Maureen

Hello Maureen :) Welcome to the OBOD Board. :shake: Those are wonderful books eh? |-) My advice is to go with your heart. :D However, if you wish to ask advice from other board members, please feel free to post about. For example, you can post your question in the Hearthfire Forum or in the Discuss Druidry Forum. It just depends on the nature of your question and where you think posting will be most appropriate and so on.

All the very best wishes,
Michael :warm:
