The clay was quite old, a bit dried out and very hard to work with, so I've ended up with only five double standing stones with capstones, five smaller standing stones and a little altarstone. They are drying now for a few days. Then I'll gather some earth, moss, plants and build my little tabletop henge.
This is awesome, thank you for sharing. I'm going to pass the idea onto my husband, who recently discovered my box of clay under the sink. He never knew he had a knack for sculpting...he made himself a pyramid and some other Egyptian themed things. He was wondering what to make next...I'll show him this.
The good thing is that this takes zero sculpting skills Here's a pic of the stones drying. The wooden sticks are to keep them upright in the dirt later on. The capstones will be hotglued on when the clay is dry. Or I should say "modeling paste" since it is one of those selfhardening brands.
