Poetic Conversations

Postby FallingLeaves » 06 Nov 2004, 10:23

Calling all bards to partake in a conversation through poetry only.......please reply only with a poem and lets see where Awen takes us.............

I called upon
a sunlight hill

As rain danced
on my windowsill

I searched though
root and shrub
and tree

I even called
out to the sea

At last I found
my druid home

and found I was
no more alone

Bards I found
upon the shore

My search complete
I look no more

My search complete
I look no more

But gather friends
from shore to shore

to dance and sing
and *DRINK*!

Friends too to lean on
when the road is hard

Bard and ovate, druid
and bard

We join a circle
of peace and love

Vibrate energy below
and above

in then
most fun of all

we sing the awen
and hear the call

A bardic battle
without the battle

(Hmm, well...)

If you don't mind
my simple prattle

I'll plop down side ye
tip a cup

And chat until
the sun comes up

Work is done
it's ev'nin' here

I'm half-way through
a can of beer

Oh WAIT! Alas
there's only one

Hold on a sec
I've gotta run

Down to the store
and spend some cash

Then back here with
my beer I'll dash

...

K, I'm back
huff huff, puff puff

NOW, I'm sure
I'll have enough

To get me through
a night of art

And poetry and stuff
...let's start!

(Umm... a conversation, a conversation... ok)

So what's this Awen stuff
you mention?

Let's give its meaning
some more attention

For the longest time
I have not spoken

Words were gone
my rhymer broken

I could not vent
my words weren't there

Where was Awen?
Did it care?

And even now
my words feel strange

As if they're forced,
outside my range

And so of course
I shifted gears

And here I am
with open ears

Awen calls
with visions now

And who am I to
decline to bow

To the call received
in three great rays

Let Awen choose
the way it plays

Please remember
Dearest friend
The lines you write
With keyboard or pen
Need not always have
A rhyming sound
If your rhymer fails
Do not despair
Awen comes in more than
Three varities
Rhyme is not only found
In words
Rhyme is life
Life is rhyme
Remember, dearest friend
Awen may not always be
Knocking on your heart
But it always sleeps there
Ready to flare up
At any instant
That it is called.

Awen lights
my heart aflame

Sending visions
to my brain

Then dancing through
my fingertips

and speaking through
Freedom's lips

Lets sit and share
an ale or two

Await sunrise
and morning dew

I know it doesnt
have to rhyme

I just cant help it
most the time!

Loud and clear
I hear you GeeDee

Thanks for speaking
when I was needy

I do agree
that Awen's type

Need not in poetry
alone be ripe

But do we call it
or does it call us?

I'd really hate
to start a fuss

It's just that recently
I feel

That I'm a slave
chained to its wheel

And thus its such
a greater thing

Than I
a fool

For thinking that
it was MY tool.

For those who feel awen's constraints
Rmember 'tis always a two-way street
A guide it is, a slave you're not
Awen is part of every thought
Awen is inside all of us
'Tis tool, 'tis friend 'tis master and slave
'Tis mystery, uncertainty, all things
Awen is there always
No need to worry
It will return
Even if
It takes a break
Of course awen is probably
A different unique mystery
To each person
It touches
So my experience of awen
Will not be yours.

An attempt to rhyme
Makes my brain sore,
So my offering here
Will likely be poor!

But if I never stop and give it a try
I'll be inspirationless 'til the day I die.
Besides, effort in these things is a must
Or your mental faculties start to rust!

Now today a brand new month begins
So time to relax, and share happy grins.
Back to work I really must go,
But thanks for indulging my experiment so!

Poor?
Not sure?
I'll hear no more!

Most welcome
you are
to share
your ware

And test
with us
and even play

To make a special
Bardic day!

A bardic day I've had thus far
while Summer Blooms in lands afar.

As winter stops a while to sigh
allowing geese to pass her by.

And here I sit with head all clogged
and feel as if I'm in a fog.

And wonder why I am a chill
and think perhaps I'll take Nyquil.

And so it is I'm off to bed
to fight this cold that's in my head.

And plan to come again and play
with poetic bards again someday.

A good poet, I know I'll never be
But I shall try to tell you clearly
what I see

Sweet Kat Lady, so kind in words
wishes she too can fly south as
do the birds

Enjoy this time now, it is so fleeting,
when winter is gone, one must wait
seasons for the next meeting.

Snowflakes, hearths, and forests of white
are wonders, only once a year, may a
good (wo)man sight

Winter will pass and return will the geese,
a few warm months to nestle in comfort
and peace.

Alas, does Kat Lady yet ill,
worry not, for in your mind resides
Summer still

I'm covering reception for half an hour
And to cure my boredom I'll do all in my power

Casting my glance round the empty room
I use my imagination to banish the gloom

The blue carpet beneath becomes a pool
And a small bush, where once stood a stool

The horizon appears from the opposite wall
The counter a cliff, from where you could fall!

And the glaring white light from the bulbs above
Becomes the bright yellow sunshine that I love!

I stretch, I yawn
twas up at dawn.

I groan, and moan
there rings the phone.

This day, I say
must go away.
And I must work another day.

I have a trip
on an airship.

To teach a few
'bout what to do.

And so, in sorrow
I leave tomorrow.
To lands where no one wants to follow.

This poetry is so much fun
Oh, SummerBlooms, what have you done?
You're turning us into bards
And you know that's really hard
To make us stop writing once
We've started writing
Now I am going to play
With your signature this day
Because I really like the sound
Of all those lovely FallingLeaves
Into fertile CompostingEarth
Ready for the year's rebirth
And when sweet fresh SpringArrives
We'll all go outside and feel alive
And then come lovely SummerBlooms
And circle back to FallingLeaves
I love this little seasons dance
I've just run out of things to say
So I'll be going on my way
I'll be back, so never fear
I'll be here all this year!

I really must work on my rhyme
I run out of them all the time
I must not lose the flow
I wonder how far this time will go
I really want to keep the stream
The rhyming as well as the theme
I need a lot of practice still
I better not stop writing until
I can rhyme for many pages
And write poems like all you sages
I'm being silly, I know, I know
But my poetry so needs to grow
So please don't mind what I say
'Tis the nonsense for today.
