New Moon in Fearn March 11, 2012-by Sarah Fuhro

On the first day of the new Moon cycle of Fearn, we have a huge procession of planets, and the luminaries (Sun and Moon) traveling through the constellation Pisces. This might be a time to appreciate waves of all kinds. Above is a picture of a wave of snow. Here’s a wave of starlings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH-groCeKbE flying together over Otmoor. The Milky Way is a wave seen in the picture below: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120625.html and so is a flash mob in Mumbai: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyt16efRrBo.
This new Moon offers us a time to be absorbed in some pattern larger than our usual sense of random activity driven by forces outside ourself. An astrology chart also presents a design, a choreographed dance of planets and lights at a particular moment of time in a particular place happening everywhere in the world simultaneously. We are all, animal, plant and mineral drawn into this design of opportunity and danger. Pisces offers a vision of oneness, compassion, vulnerability, idealism and the tendency to get lost in music or day dreaming or alcohol. Pisces is focused on the sublime pattern of the universe. This is a time to enjoy the mystical and impractical beauty of your life. Logic doesn’t belong to this Pisces Moon and Sun. This is not a time for answers, but could be a time of amazement and deep connection to our visionary powers. It is time to begin something invisible in the darkness of the new Moon, a womb which will keep what you have conceived in secret, even from you, until the time is ripe! Of the traditional planets, only Jupiter the expander and Saturn the contractor remain outside the Piscean convocation. They are available to observe and act upon the Piscean dreams of Mercury, Chiron, Venus, Moon, Sun in Mars as they follow Neptune’s lead. Jupiter’s placement in Gemini keeps him ‘squarely’ in the verbal ad rational realm. He is perhaps the scribe of the mystic, while Saturn is drawn into the watery environment of Scorpio, trine to Pisces, but with the intention to ‘get to the bottom’ of the mystery. Take some time as the latest storm arrives and departs to gaze into that deep part of your heart obscured by mind chatter and electronic messages. Boil water, pour it over leaves of tea, invite yourself to sit down and do nothing. Pisces is the end of the zodiacal procession. Soon enough we will be filled with the fire of Aries as spring ignites the green flame. The Tarot card for Pisces is The Moon, a reminder that we are here to evolve beyond our limits, and that this may take imagination and courage. Keeping our Ancient Wisdom Alive The Wisdom Tradition evolved over the centuries to address our deepest human needs.
