The Oak

"Oaks are known as astringent tonics. This means they will tend to shrink, tone and heal tissues. A tea from the bark is used as an enema for hemorrhoids or as a douche for vaginitis. it will benefit bloody urine, stop internal hemorrhages, reduce fevers, and soothe sore throats. Oak bark tea may be used internally and externally to shrink varicose veins, and as a wash for sores and skin irritations. It has been used as a hair rinse to stop hair loss and dandruff.
White oak bark, taken as tea, helps clean the body of excess mucus caused by sinus congestion, post nasal drip, and lung congestion. It also improves the stomach's ability to absorb and secrete substances. Collect the bark in early spring from young branches, twigs and the trunks of saplings."
